Cleaning Perfume Puffs question...
« on: September 07, 2012, 01:57:39 PM »
I recently received Perfume Puff Lavender Lace in the mail. I am wondering how to clean her hair without losing the smell of perfume?
Any advice is appreciated.
Anyone else think their hair looks and feels like cotton candy? Which brings me to this: Cotton Candy TOTALLY should've been a Perfume Puff. That would make more sense....

Cotton Candy would be GREAT as a perfume puff :lovey:

As for cleaning, I'm not sure, I imagine if you wash the hair the nice perfume smell will go.

I would use a mild conditioner that does not have a strong smell and use a wide toothed comb.

Or you could use a soft bristled brush on the dry hair :)

My perfume puff pony was SO dirty I had no choice but to wash her with shampoo and conditioner. When she was dirty, she didnt smell like perfume. But after I had cleaned her, the perfume scent came back! It was NOT the shampoo or conditioner smell, the perfume smell seriously just came back after I gave her a good bath. After that I just simply combed through the hair (you're going to lose some of it, but its ok, its so little) and now she is simply stunning!

Perfume Puff smell is in the pony plastic as well as in the hair :) If a pony has accumulated dirt over the years [even not visible to the eye dirts and oils] they will often coat the plastic and mask the smell. So when you clean the plastic it removes the coating and the smell is released :) a

If its in bad condition you will need to wash the hair - the material of the hair is completely different of course from normal pony hair so even washing it and brushing it will not flatten it completely. I agree with OL1s method - wash with unscented shampoo/conditioner and then when dry back brush it with a wide comb - you are not brushing it out just teasing it to ensure clean. When the hair is drying, you should dry the pony on their side to ensure the wet hair does not stretch the strands.

Good luck :)
