G4 Question- difference between Celestia and other ponies...

Why are Celestia, Cadance, and Luna tall and sleek in form, yet the rest are shorter and chunkier? Is it b/c they are child ponies? Or are they like teenagers? And why are Celestia, Luna and Cadance the only pegacorns?

be cause Celestia Luna and cadence are the controllers of powerful elements they are also immortal some ppl would go as far to say they are the gods of the ponys they are i hope this helps

I don't think Cadance is immortal, since in Twilight's flashback she looked younger.

And there are a few other ponies that have that body type: Fleur de Lis, Alley Way, and.. well, that's all I can recall at the moment

It's a high probability that the princesses was originally designed to look like goddesses and in mythology such as greek myths, gods often look like extremely beautiful people.

But in the end its just become a rare body type which normal ponies can possess. So instead of being the comparision of gods, its more like photo models body types.

Sure, angels, yeah.  I like to imagine that Celestia retired from being a full-time "guardian angel" pony so she can now lead the other ponies to produce their own heroes.

   I believe, in the initial incarnation of Celestia and Luna, yes, they were supposed to be basically gods. I don't know if the writers have changed this as the show went on. Apparently Lauren Faust had conceived of parents for L+C, but nothing ever came of that. (This was revealed long after the introduction of Cadence.) Celestia is shown to be fallible, since she was defeated by Chrysalis quite easily, but she and Luna are the sisters mentioned in the first episode: they are over a thousand years old, and control the day and night respectively. Fans make many speculations about whether or not the sisters are immortal, whether or not they control the day and night anymore or if they have helpers, and things like that.
  Now, Cadence kind of threw a wrench in the works. A lot of fans did not/do not like her because she messed up a lot of good theories that only pony gods can be pegacorns. In addition, it was revealed that Lauren Faust did not initially envision Cadence to be a pegacorn at all, and that detail was added after Faust had left the show. People assume Hasbro were involved with the decision because they wanted a pretty pink alicorn to sell.  Now fans are changing their theories about what an alicorn is, and how they come about.
  The reason I keep referring to fan theories because no official sources have given us answers about alicorns or the status of Celestia and Luna as possible gods. As for their body styles, L+C get them because they need to look glamorous and powerful. Cadence probably got a long and thin body to make her stand out as beautiful. And probably make her easier to sell. I assume she has a lot of the royal blood in her, and that's why she's a pegacorn, but it doesn't necessarily make her immortal.
  It's also worth noting that they sometimes make Cadence as big as Celestia in the toyline, which is offten not show accurate.

I don't seem them as 'Gods' by any means....Though Mr. Discord is definitely a God of Chaos in my book!!  I see the Winged Unicorn being a very rare breed, like the Mermaid Ponies in G1.  A very longed lived/immortal breed tied deeply with magic as well.  In my headcanon I see them aging normally to a point, and then they just stop aging.  They can die, just not of old age.  And their height/magic wavy manes comes from the magic they possess, case in point?  Luna.  When she was changed back from Nightmare Moon, she was much smaller and had normal hair.  But when we saw her again in the Nightmare Night episode, she was much taller and had magic wavy hair.  Her magic had been returning to her.

In my view, Celestia and Luna are essentially gods.  Fallible ones, obviously.  Sort of along the line of Greek gods, but with less boozing and sex.

I really don't like Cadence being an alicorn instead of a unicorn, as she was originally conceived.  I liked Luna and Celestia being unique in that regard, to go along with their celestial duties.  I like dualities, and Luna and Celestia represent that so well . . . dark and light, day and night, Celestia's more measured attitude compared to the intensity of THE ROYAL CANTERLOT VOICE!   It just doesn't work as well with three of the same kind of pony.
