which bjds of the ones I have are more popular
« on: September 06, 2012, 01:41:36 PM »
Hi. Recently I purchased 9 bjds, but since my daughter's job fell through I'm going to have to sell at least a couple & need help deciding though I have to not include Soom Chrom & my LongSoul MuChen , please tell me which would be more popular Island Doll Damien, Island Doll Florian or Dollzone Alpha? I realize that Damien and Florian are 2 cm taller than Alpha. I appreciate your opinions. thanks

can you share photos?

From my experience, people buy based on photos.
The doll that presents itself best and can be photographed best, is generally the one that will sell better.

Island doll and dollzone are both less popular companies that don't tend to sell well in the secondhand market.

More people are going to be familiar with Dollzone, but there are some strong stereotypes against the company (though honestly the stereotypes are dated). I still know a few people who have a strong dislike of dollzone.

Thanks, my first reply went into cuberspace. The first Dollzone I had in 2007 or 8 which I sold in 2010, I didn't like his toenails, lol. I remember some people didn't like the sectioned torso, but seems every company does that now. thanks for the reply especially since no one else offered an opinion.

Like Knibitz said, none of the ones you have listed are popular dolls. Honestly, if you need money, the Soom would be a better sale.

At the moment I don't want to sell the Soom & a friend has agreed to buy one. I was asking between the 2 companies which was the more popular of the two.

You could always post feelers for your dolls and see if three would be enough interest for you to consider selling them?

I'd say just offer all of them and once you've sold a few, take the rest down off the chopping block.

Dollzone and Island Dolls are not very expensive dolls so second hand market prices need to be a bit competitive against brand new/factory fresh for them to sell. Flattering photos and maybe if you add some wigs and clothing, they may sell a lot quicker than just nude dolls.

My first Mini Super Dollfie/MSD was a Dollzone Mo(wen). I liked the sculpt. The Island Doll tinies I recall were very cute.

Good luck with your sales!

Thanks, the Island Doll  dolls I have are male 70 cm dolls, but I've really decided one of them I don't want to sell

I'd just figure out which ones you aren't as attached to.  If there's one you can't part with, don't put that one up for sale.

The market is very, very soft right now. Be prepared to either take a huge loss or have your dolls for sale for a long time (speaking from experience). You might consider allowing splits, it seems like a lot of folks are just looking for bodies for their floating heads right now. Good luck with your sale!

Since all my bjds are the larger size except one, they're all 60.5 cm -73.5 I haven't taken them outside for photos. We used natural light from the front french doors and a stand -up adjustable lamp.I can post some photos later this weekend if I can get my daughter to resize them as she says from moving them to her photobucket for here they'd be too big. In response to the market, yes, I too noticed from the completed auctions on eBay that the prices are down. And with that new seller thing eBay does, a friend of mine confirmed they held her money for 19 days; I decided to sell one that I don't really want to sell to my local friend as she will pay me in cash within a week from now.
The one she likes best, the photos I have are dark in the background as We didn't use the added light standing adjustable lamp. I don't have clothes for all the guys yet & this week my 73.5 period LongSould outfit from a certain seller on eBay arrived stinking of a chemical odor. The outfit having been ordered in July and costing $33 to ship, I'm not enthusiastic about spending $33 to ship it back , but the seller is not being helpful , nor has she offered a way for me to ship it back at a lower price, so there's an outfit I can't use. Also since we have the photos in Downloads and not on my daughter's photobook, I'll have to ask her if she can put them on here. thanks
