First pony hair re-style - from frizz to sleek (working photos!)
« on: September 06, 2012, 01:37:28 PM »
Sooo, my first proper, ponyspa hairstyle moment.

I got her a month and a bit ago, and as lovely as she was elsewhere, her hair was crrraaazzzyy for me. So a bit of a restyle and shes gone from this (also please note this is my first photo upload so I hope it works!!):

Not working for me either. :( Are you sure you wrote the address right? I had one "h" too much in "http" and the pictures wouldnt show up. It can be a small thing.

I think you used the link to PB's photo viewer instead of to the photos themselves. :) Just use the URL in the "Direct link" box and it'll work.

Nice job! Her hair looks perfect now! Did it take a long time to achieve that? It really looks like new.

Aww thanks everyone. ^_^ I'm glad you all like it.

I used straws, sellotape and a couple of hair grips. It felt fiddly, but I think that's partly down to practice.

After I had washed her hair I separated out sections of colour and then twisted them. They seemed to have a wave to them already so I tried to keep that direction. Then when it was fully twisted I wrapped about half of the length of the section around a straw.

I couldn't figure how to make it stay so I used a little but of sellotape to go just over the edge of the hair and down excess bits of straw to keep it.

I then put a hair grip over the tape, not the hair, to weight down the sections of hair so they didn't spring out of shape.

I then left her like that for two days to dry/set. I unwrapped her hair carefully, making sure any sellotape on the hair followed the length of the hair downwards so as not to damage it. And voila! there she was in all her curled glory!

^_^

I used straws for my curlers too. :) But, instead of tape and all that, I just used bobby pins. Worked amazingly well! Of course, the straws were trimmed down so she ended up with tight spirals that went everywhere, haha.
