Possible to re-whiten hair?
« on: September 05, 2012, 05:20:52 PM »
I just bought a G1 that originally had white stripes in her hair; however, it has now discolored to a yellowish tint. Is it possible to re-whiten the hair back to its original color? Has anyone ever attempted this/had success with it? If so, any tutorials would be a big help too. Thanks! ^.^

Oxyclean should do the trick. Just mix it up how you would for soaking clothes, and leave the hair in the mixture overnight.

Rinse it out and condition and style the hair

Since it's only the stripes I need to whiten, would I be able to stick the other color stripes in the Oxiclean as well? I'm afraid of discoloring any other part of her hair.

Oxyclean will not harm the other colors at all :)

I've actually sunfaded hair before. It was yellowed from mildew, even after a good cleaning, but the yellow tint faded very quickly in the sun.

Yes I would agree sun-bleaching should work or oxy may be a good bet.
