I was uploading some VHS & DVD cover art and as doing so I couldnt help but notice how seriously giggle-worthy some of the artwork is...

If you have seem some equally "is that really supposed to be a pony?" official artwork lets see!? Doesnt have to just be video covers

The thread title comes from this first one - where Gusty and Lofty look fine but why does Fizzy resemble a Hippo?

Is it me, or do those G2 ponies on the mlp movie cover look disturbingly...sultry? And the I hate to say it, but the description on the other VHS isn't helping my admittedly perverse train of thought

Lol, Fizzy does indeed look like a hippo Poor girl. And I totaly agree, "Magic Star" in the last pic looks creepy O.o Gonna lock her up tonight just to be safe

The thing that caught my attention the most though was the "3 Hours of Pure Pony Pleasure" note at the bottom of the second cover. I think you and I have the same perverted mind Kissthethunder

"My Little Hippo" just doesn't have the same ring to it, does it?  Poor Fizzy.  Too much soda pop.

As for the last cover, Light Heart really does look like she's got weirdly come-hither eyes.  Must be the lashes.  I guess whoever the artist was had trouble rendering front views of ponies' faces (I sympathize; I can't draw for beans, but when I do draw stick figure ponies to amuse myself, they're only from the side 'cause their faces always look wonky from front).  There's something rather a bit Henson-esque about it, though... more puppety-looking than pony-looking.
