Things I Love About Customizing!

What are you favorite things?  My list is long!

~Getting a box of baits in the mail!
~Painting, a fresh FBR is the most magical canvas!
~Rerooting!  It's very rhythmic and soothing, I almost have more time to "bond" with the pony
~Detail Painting/Eyes!  No two projects are ever the same and I learn something each time!
~The eyes really add so much life to the pony, they are a lot of fun!
~Sculpting makes almost anything possible!

Everything! Even the bits which frustrate me are things I enjoy - like detail painting. I get soooo frustrated with it, but I KNOW that its helping me improve and that at the end I'll love what I've done
I love rehairing - theres something therapeutic about selecting colours and blending each plug to get the look that I want.
I love sculpting - and even when I decide I hate something and rip it all apart **coughPandawingscoughcough** I learn from it and make something better.

Obviously, my favorite part is gluing the head back on and looking at a completed pony for the first time

But if you're talking about actually *working* on them, I can't get enough of rehairing.  In fact, I'm bummed right now because my Garrus pony resulted in a pretty hefty laceration on the outside of my floss-pulling pinky, meaning no rehairing for me until it heals (however, I suppose it means that I can otherwise complete a bunch more in the mean time so I can have one massive rehairing day when I'm all better!)

I also really like the last bit of detail work - the subtle shading and highlighting.  I always start working on it with absolute dread, being afraid that I'll take a pony that was "good" and accidentally mess it up trying to make it "better", but as depth starts to show up, I really get excited about it.

My planning phase is also among my favorites, which is funny, because I usually find it difficult to actually execute my designs on my first tries (which might also mean that it's one of the more stressful parts for me?).  Either way, coming up with a concept and figuring out how it's going to work is always lots of fun for me

Seeing someone's idea take form. 
I love when I ship something out and get an email a week later telling me how fabulous it is.
Sitting in my workshop, music playing, not paying attention to anything but working all weekend.

I LOVE sculpting! I want to find an excuse to sculpt on pretty much every pony I do, and I've starting sculpting free sculptures aside from pony customizing-- I feel like it's one those parts of art that I can really do well and apply outside of the pony world

also: I love planning! I add so much to my design that it would totally be gawdy if I did everything in my design (and I do most of my design! lol so ya, my ponies are pretty gawdy at times  )

finally: the final reveal! I like to parade my newly finished ponies around the house and show em off to my family, who are respectfully in awe ♥

PAINTING EYES!!! i love painting eyes
and painting insane little details.....i love the painting...all of it!
i also really love the planning....then seeing it all come to life (tho i do get frustrated when its not EXACTLY like it was in my head - lol)

I love to rehair too -- but with an almost-toddler, my ability to keep the hair nice and situated is drastically decreased so i, lately, find myself procrastinating the hair process

Picking hair colors and hairing.
The finished product.
And of course, bringing happiness to other people through my ponies.  That's the best part!

I love everything about customizing... Even though I'm pretty bad at it. :B

seeing the ddesine you imagined finished just right.
Taking something tatty and unloved and making something lovely.
Looking at the finished pony and being able to say I did that.
Making hair blends I'm a freek mine have to be the same colour as the pony (my other half says I'm obsessed )

I love how exited my customers or swap partners get when their pony finally arrives.

I love the looks on my friends faces when they see ponies I am working on.

I love prepping ponies in front of my friends and seeing how much it disturbs them to watch me cut their heads off

I love the satisfaction of creating something beautiful.

I love the feeling of validation I get when someone wants to buy one of my ponies.

I love trying to improve.

I love getting random packages in the mail that I forgot I ordered and opening them to find pony supplies.
