Ponywear patterns
« on: August 29, 2012, 03:55:38 AM »
Hello everypony!

Bit of a weird question, but does anyone have any patterns for making ponywear for G1s? More specifically babies? My Baby Quackers likes to go journeying with me and I'd like to make her a little adventuring outfit. I have lots of scrap fabric and I can crochet, so either of those things would be good.

Thanks in advance!

I was just wondering the same thing for g4 Fs ponies.  Dashie's dress just looks soo awkward.

Hmm, it's a mystery so far. I would try and design my own but I can see it going wrong.

If you have a baity piece of pony wear you could seam rip out the stitches and lay it out to make yourself a pattern.  Then you can sew or crochet the outfit with the pattern and make something new and fun for your G1's.

For G4's I think you'd have to make yourself a pattern since the G4's mostly just come with capes right now.  Unless you just want to make a cape and all you have to do is get a small piece of fabric and some ribbon and then tie to pony, .... the end. lol

If you have G1 ponywear, it actually fits the FS G4s :-D  I'm planning on putting the Flash Prance outfit on FS Pinkie Pie once she arrives.

FS Pinkie comes with a really cute skirt! It doesn't quite fit G1s (at least not Parasol), but it looks really cute on G3s, too.

I don't actually own any ponywear... at the moment I think I could probably crochet Baby Quackers a scarf

I make my own ponywear, but I don't use patterns. I just drape and sew!

Its honestly not something I have ever seen floating around.

There is a crochet pattern for pony outfits but they are not the most elegant that I have seen. I would go with the reverse engineering option or alternatively there are some great "pony wear" makers both on the Arena and on sites like etsy.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

I haven't been able to find much on Etsy actually, apart from scarves and I can definitely make those.

I found this: http://www.christinassunshinehaven.com/doll_clothing/my_little_pony_sweater.htm

Which looks better than the one I saw on the MLPTP which looked kind of terrifying and I think may be the one you're referring to? Someone found it in a pattern book.

Eternia - yours is lovely! At the moment I'm hoping for something a bit more hard-wearing for a travelling pony (I think your lovely designs would get damaged), but I did see your sale thread and I am tempted! :)
