What to do with left over trading cards
« on: August 26, 2012, 11:41:27 PM »
I know I could trade them for ones I need, but unless someone wants to trade non foil for foil (which I doubt they do) and I want to start a third set (yeah I already have 2 almost complete sets, minus all the foils) what the heck am I supposed to do with the rest?

Maybe start a trading thread in Trades? You might find someone who is willing to trade one foil card for multiple regular cards or something :) you might even find someone who would trade a pony for the cards?

I'm wondering that myself! Although I managed to complete my collection before I bought enough cards to make two sets worth lol. But I still do have like 30 extra cards of various types!

I'm debating ebay. I know the extra foils will go for a lot. Not sure about the common cards, but worth a shot?

Or you could drop them off at a thrift store, I guess? Maybe get some kids with low income excited when they see cards on the shelf.

Or...build... pony houses out of them! XD

Okay, just random thoughts I've been having. lol

I need cards.... I haven't been able to get more than 4 packs, thought I am expecting the binder with discord cards in the mail. I just can't get out to find them right now.

I'd say start a trade thread. If nothing else, you can sell them on the cheap and earn money for more packs

I LOVE this idea and I'm totally doing it! Thanks! *hugs Ivy*

To everyone looking for more cards, saying they're sold out in stores, etc.: There is a HUGE 8-page trading thread in the trading forum for people to list their duplicate cards. In fact, the tread is so huge, most people can't even get rid of their extra cards because everyone else is offering the same thing lol. I am totally sure MANY people would be able to trade you for the cards you need, or sell them for cheap.

I myself have a "trading club" going in the trade forum where, if I have a card you need, simply mail me a self-address stamped envelope and another card to replace it, and I'll send you the card for free. :)

I love how friendly and awesome the Arena is when it comes to these things.  I'd say hang onto them for fun swap goodies!

Its not a TCG its just trading cards - there is a long discussion about them in the FiM forum :)

I agree with the try trading bulk lots away, offer them up for sale as people may be willing to pay a certain amount for a selection of certain cards or pop them as a lot on ebay! Although I also love Ivys idea of adding them into swap and trade and sale packs as extras!
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

Are you brave enough to cut them up?

How about some cute note/sketch pads like this?

Or what about using some cutouts for a cute pendant?

These are not mine. I found them on Etsy.
