Oh dear...
« on: August 22, 2012, 08:39:43 PM »
I purchased a new g4 pony today to use as bait. As I was prepping her, I pulled her head off... and part of her plug snapped off inside her head.

I figure the plug is no good anymore, but does anyone have any suggestions for getting the part inside the head out? I have second pony that I was just planning on playing around with, so I'm fine using her plug.

Boil her head in water- when it softens up, use some pliers to pull it out :)

You could also neatly cut out her inner neckring.  After that, you'll have to glue the head to the neck, but it will be much easier to work inside it. :)

I warm the head and get in there with pliers or hemostats. It's a pain but one of these days I hope to perfect my head removal so I don't have to deal with broken neck plugs.
I'm not really on here anymore. Email me if you need my for something.

Thanks so much! I'll try boiling first, and if that doesn't work, cutting out some more of the neck.

Moonhawke! :tackleglomp:

Invest in some hemostats. $5 or so from the fishing isle in Walmart. And next time, maybe try heating up the pony head in hot water before beheading? Most of the time though you can get them off without if you gently rock and tug.

I didnt have an issue with my first pony. I wonder if the plastic of the plug was weak to begin with.. oh well. I will use some hot water next time.
