How do people get factory errors/prototypes?

Like where do they get them from. On eBay they say like fresh from factory xD

Well, aside from one or two chinese ebay sellers, who indeed get their goods from factory ( in more or less direct way, we don't know), most people get unreleased stuff from chinese website taobao. You can't use it directly without a friend/shopping agents living in China. There are plenty of tutorials, depending on which agent you choose.

I think there isn't offiicial english version. You should be able to find ponies just by searching "my little pony" on the chinese version. 
After you found what you want, you need to submit order to your agent. This procedure differs depending on agent. Taobaonow probably has the best reputation. I also use efacehome, without any problem so far.
Just don't forget that you'll need to pay not only item cost (and it listed in chinese yuan, btw), but also shipping within China (from seller to your agent), agent's service fee and international shipping from China to you.

I've been using taobaonow.com and been very satesfied with it both times They are friendly, helpfull and in my opinion reliable.

You can also do searches from their site. It will re-direct you to the original Taobao site and all you can do is look at the pictures there, unless you speak chinese obviously , and pick and choose through that.

That site is a Taobao agent not Taobao itself.

There are some threads over in the TS forum which inform about how Taobao works but before using it I would advise you research it carefully - not necessarily through the Arena as you should be completely clued up on how it works before you use it - and be aware that the process isnt as black and white as buying retail on US/UK sites.

And as Itajn - other than a couple of Chinese sellers who have recently taken to ebay most people source their errors through Taobao as thats pretty much the main manufacturer/supplier to market online site that is readily accessible to those of us outside China.
