Gag me with chemical stink

OH my stars. I got the Shining Armor and Cadance set today, cuz, le shock de gasp, my target finally a few new things in. I open it up and GAG!!! so much chemical stink! ugh!I have to put them in another room to let them air out.
 I got the Luna & Celetia FS set when they went on discount  but I didn't open them so I don't know if they stink so bad.

Do everyone's sets of these ponies stink so hard of chemicals?

I've opened a few FSs like that. I don't think mine were THAT bad but it was definitely noticeable.

I don't think I've ever gotten any that were that bad, but I've definitely gotten into a habit of washing all of them off as soon as I debox, because I feel like there's nasty gunk in their hair.

Some of my Fashion Styles were gross too! Luckily once they aired out it got much better.

The only smell I've noticed is the vinyl smell that all ponies give off.

i about died when i openind my wave $ blind bag silver metallic rarity ... it was AWFUL! stank up the entire van and we had the windows open and the air going ... ugh ... awful ... i haven't opened my FS cadance/shining armor yet so i can't report on them ...

Oh dear. I better steer clear of the Shining Armor and Cadence set then. I'm extremely sensitive to fumes.

I really hope none of these chemical smells and other things will compromise their long term MIB life, like there's something still on them that will damage them over time. The only FS I opened I didn't smell anything but I do wash my G4s immediately because their hair feels super dry and just horrid straight out of the box... plus I want them styled and on display asap lol.

I only have my G4s MIB. That's crazy that they smell bad! They used to smell so nice back in the 80's.

One of my recent blind bags was pretty stinky, too.  I think it was Minuette.

I've had a few smelly Blind Bags as well, but no brushables.  I'm really scared now; I hope it doesn't damage them beyond repair in the future.  I've got nearly 30+ MIB G4s.

Yep i just opened them and wwooooooo x___O chemicals! I have had some other figures(non MLP) with this issue it does go away.

I've aired mine out for a while now and they dont make me wanna yarf with stink.  The plastic still stinks though, but its not overwhelming.

I'm not sure what it is, but when I opened my FS Cadance and SA they also had a nasty chemical smell. It reminded me of hair spray or spray paint. It's probably the metallic paint they used on her dress.
