Tip: Removing dents from G4s
« on: August 11, 2012, 01:50:15 AM »
I mentioned this on another thread but people seemed to be a bit dubious, so now I have photographs to show you that it works.

Lots of people have been complaining about the dents on the G4s caused by the packaging (and quite rightly so, it is not acceptable to have dented ponies straight out of the box!) so I thought I would share how I get rid of the dents in mine.

If you  - carefully! - pour some just boiled water over the dents they should disappear (or at least improve). The larger the dent the longer you will have to run the water over, but you can notice the difference straight away and it takes next to nothing to do.

This is my Pinkie Pie subject before:-

Ok, so the dents on this subject were not too bad, but I if I ever debox any more ponies and get a better example I will take more pics. Obviously, you can show us your results too! :)

Note: I have not noticed any adverse effects in using the hot water but use this method at your own risk! ;)

The before and after shots are great! Boiling water is great for that, and squished bodies.

Awesome!
I haven't come across any ponies with dents yet, but now I know how to remedy the dents if I do.
Thanks for posting this, moonflower!

I'm guessing this will only work on the bodies and not heads. I have a few ponies that came with tiaras which left dents, no fixing that :( This method is great though, thanks :)

Awesome! Thank you! I just got my Nightmare Moon collector set yesterday and ALL of the ponies had those dents in the chest/neck area. I'm glad there is a fix for it!

Thanks! Worked perfectly the nightmare moon favorite's girls that all had dents. I would've been so bummed out if this hadn't worked!
