Gecko Eggs Just Hatched!!!! UPDATE- More Hatched!!! 8-3

Well, I keep crested geckos and breed them on the side of collecting, school, and work. This is my third breeding year and there has been a lot of anticipation built up over it for myself, and the whole 'designer' lovers. Anywho, I have 30 eggs in the incubator right now and I have been anxiously checking them just about every hour that I am home or awake because I suspected the hatching would come any day as of 2 weeks ago :P

Today, at 3pm, two of the eggs started scooting around and jittering. Another from a different clutch started about 3:20pm. At 5:55pm the first two came out, and the third came out at 6:12pm.

 :banana: I'm so excited as I am very passionate of my geckos. Hooray for new babies! :banana:

As soon as my fiancee gets home with my camera I will take/post pics!

Aw, how awesome! Congrats on the clutch!  Can't wait to see pics.  I imagine scooting and jumping eggs were interesting to see.  lol

Totally agree expect for missing wings.  I wonder if critters like these are what inspired some artist drawings of dragons.  They are too cute.  Have to send Thoth a link so she can come see.

:biggrin: This is literally the beginning! I have 30 eggs total, and I will get more before the season is over. So, 30-3= 27 left to hatch (plus expect egg loss) so I'm expecting 23 more babies from this round of 30. I need to harvest the tanks in about a month, so I'll probably have about 12 more to put in the incubator in 30 days. They take about 120 days to hatch. So patience is a virtue in this hobby (just like ponies!) :biggrin: They will be adopted out this holiday season when they're older and stronger :cry: I always get teary when the babies go to their forever homes! :lol:

Those are soo cool looking!!! Can I be nosy and ask what the brown sub-strate is in those plastic cups? Does it help keep the eggs in place? Or does it help with keeping the temperature under contol?

But anyways, congrats on all your new babies!!!
