Pretty Pony Restore

I just wanted to show off the My Pretty Pony I got from a very kind Arena member and her before/after shots. She spent a day at the pony spa with me and I'm very proud of her. If I were braver I'd open her and fix her mechanism but she's already got a tear and I love her just the way she is. Pics first and details after in case anyone has a Pretty Pony with horrible hair and needs a little hope.

Her mane still has a little frizz at the ends but it's a bit better and I'd prefer she keep the length even if it does look a little puffy (I might trim later but I'm not sure she needs it). And her tail, wow what a job! I accidentally pulled it out while combing (those were some epic knots) but managed to get it back in, not correctly because I didn't open her but it looks alright and isn't coming out any time soon, lol.

The process I used was lengthy but worth it, especially for her tail! I did 4 deep conditions, leaving in for at least 20 minutes each time, untangling with fingers. She then had conditioner left in overnight and all her knots brushed out the next day, this resulted in a lot of hair loss but she kept enough volume that her tail looks fine. Then I did a combination of pouring boiling water over it and ironing it out while wet, conditioned and covered with a damp towel. I did the boiling water a couple of times and a lot of ironing and combing until I was happy with it. A tiny trim and she's ready to dry. The hair still feels dry but she looks beautiful... I almost can't believe I actually managed to get her looking so nice.

I'm going to make her a cute felt blanket and buy her a hat I've been eyeing at a local store, I'm so proud to have her in my herd!

Eepity! She looks gorgeous! Nice job on restoring, her mane just looks immaculate :3 I'm not a big fan of Pretty Pony, but this girl has a certain charm even I can't resist! YAY!

I have such a soft spot for this girl <3 I got my own at a garage sale at my neighbors and she had rat poop in her hair and one eye was strangely glazed over and white. These girls can be HARD TO CLEAN!

Thanks everyone! She's a very special pony and she deserved patience and care doing her hair... and I'm naturally a very impatient person!
