Posey variations?
« on: July 31, 2012, 06:53:52 AM »
Hello ponies ^.^
Just wondering if there was ever a Posey that actually had white hair and white flowers on her symbol? I've recently acquired a Posey with lovely original pink hair and pink flowers, but my older version has white. I'm guessing its just sun faded but because i can't see a hint of colour in the white hair, i was wondering if she ever did have a variation?

Posey's pink is very prone to fading to white, so I'd say your white one is just faded. If you take her head off the roots of her hair inside her head will most likely still be pink

Even then, the roots are often white as well! My posey army has several white ones, and they are all from fading. I think the only variant of Posey that I've seen is when she has dark magenta tulips instead of pink/faded-to-white ones.

I think there actually was a thread like this long ago and it turns out that there actually WERE variations of her symbol, like the flowers were darker pink on than the other or something like that. I'm the wrong person to ask though. I could have been dreaming.

Do you have some pictures you can show us? :)  It sounds like she might be faded but photos will tell.

There's a UK Posey with dark symbols. That may be the one you were thinking of :)

That kind of pink hair is extremely sensitive to fading, and in strong sunlight, it can fade completely through the roots.  Chlorine water will also do that, if Posey ever went swimming ;)  As far as we know, there's no officially factory-direct white Posey released in the US.

Yes the only regular HB release of Posey other than her US one is the magenta tulips version.

However, Posey is a classic pony for coming in all manner of "variants" if by variants we mean the degree to which her hair has faded and the red has leached out of her symbols. :) There sometimes seems no two that match! I ll admit to actually really liking her with the white hair.

The legitimate variations that I know of.

Posey is very, very prone to fading -- both hair and symbols.
