I really hope the phone apps aren't necessary things to take proper care of them, because I don't have an iPhone or iPad, and no way I'm getting one just because of this 

I don't think the apps will be necessary for Furby care-giving. In the beginning of the video we see him feed Furby the old-fashioned way, by pushing on its tongue (and mentioning off-hand that Furbies love the taste of human flesh). Later we see the iPad integration, where he's using the app to feed Furby.

It's likely just a selling point, not a necessity.

Wasn't fond of them back then and while they are more "animated" than before, I could do without the lit eyes. Makes them scarier with the lights off in the room.

I THOUGHT that too!!! I had envisioned a secret agency looking into our lives and making sure we weren't too awesome, or aliens. Or....anything!!! I was a kid so it would have been "They can see how much I play the Sims.....nooooo"

yeah, I've seen that, but I was afraid it is needed "for a better care", because there you can even make different stuff for them, and some they might like better than your finger

wow, I knew many people disliked them and thought they are scary, but it's interesting to see there are actually so many - hey, don't be offended, I'm not meaning it that way at all! it really is just interesting for me I know it's just personal taste and I don't feel a tad negative towards people who don't like them - well, apart from those who visit me and upon seeing them try to hurt mine, but that's something anyone who collects anything can understand I think my love towards them roots from my love towards animals and pets and my sister's allergy and thus my lack of furry animals ever. I always loved electronic and interactive pets, I wasn't surprised I loved these too at instant, and I always suspected it's because I could at least have these if I couldn't have real furry pets (even though it's not the same, I know).

Iceglider: wow, a Spanish one! I wish I could have one like that I love different languaged Furbs, but most of mine are English, with just a few exceptions - one Japanese, for example. I think Japanese have one of the cutest voices :3

Well, I hated Furbys when they came out and thought they were horrifying xD Although, I think the new ones are actually quite cute! :3 I enjoyed watching him shake it and it was like "Me no like!" lololol x'D

My original furby also ended up being left in my closet They just never SHUT UP lol. I'm a bit underwhelmed to be honest. I mean, the original ones could interact with each other too, and dance, couldn't they? The new apps aren't adding much. And the eye animation seems dated. They are cute though.

My friend had one and I think they taught theirs bad words. Where if you repeat something enough it mimics? Can they do that still? I'm pretty sure hers did, I remember hearing it and being surprised. But her brother was the initiator of that one!

I loved mine, but they didn't stop talking when I was sleeping. <3

I see them at thrift stores sometimes and give them pats on the head before I leave.
