Too soon I think, and too bad of an economy. If people were even spending $30 on toys for their kids those Lite Sprites would never have failed. I hope this furby doesn't take 8 batteries.

Omg, I want one! I remember when the original one came out my mom knew someone at Montgomery Wards that was able to put one back for her, and when she picked it up they put it in a brown paper bag and had security walk her out because so many people were getting mugged for furby! I loved that thing! At the end of its run we had 5 of them and we'd put them in a circle and let them "talk" to each other, lol

Hurrah, they're here to drive another generation of parents completely mad... When I was younger my parents used to hide mine because they hated it so much . It was a brown spotty one.. wonder if I still have it somewhere?

I'm not too sure on what to think of the new Furbys. I thought the older ones were cute. These are kinda too tech for my tastes. And the new voice..... Bwahahaha! That picture completely made my day. I actually only just started watching The Simpsons and I haven't made it to this point yet but wow.

I also just wanted to throw out there that the old ones had a thing in the center of their heads that actually stored solar power, so there have been quite a few reports of them randomly coming to life when the batteries are gone.

Furbies are my main collection, I loved them ever since they appeared in stores back in 1998, so these news made me super-excited when I heard them back in April. for long it wasn't sure they arent's just rumours, but a couple of weeks before a video finally appeared 
I love them, and - even though I like the 2005 ones too - I really like they went back to the original design, and this one looks quite alot like that. I also love the things it's capable of, but I really hope the phone apps aren't necessary things to take proper care of them, because I don't have an iPhone or iPad, and no way I'm getting one just because of this 

however, this price kind of makes me cry  I know it's high-tech and that, but it simply means I won't be able to get one for quite some time... definitely not at instant when they come out this was the case with the originals too, they were so expensive here when they hit the shops that I never got one new. and when they saw they don't sell well they didn't put them on sale, but rather took them back instead... I adored them from the day they appeared in shops, but it took years until I could finally get my first one - used, for a price we could finally afford. if they will be sold for $60 in the US that means they will cost even more here, and for me even $60 is too much even if I started putting money away for it I couldn't get it, for our prices and salary it's just too much (and I doubt it will have a lower price here just to fit our wallets).
so right now one of my eyes smiles and the other one cries... I don't know when I will have one, let alone two to try out interaction... but I definitely am sitting on needles waiting for it to come out! ^^

I think it will be out already in September, not in October.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!! I was old for them when they came out. My little sisters had them though. Weird toys. Though I did play with them some. Someone gave them one that spoke spanish since we lived in Puerto Rico. That was a little different.
