I'm looking for a toy horse that I encountered during childhood, it wasn't mine but even back then I wished it was. Just a short story, my family rented a house for a week holiday, i stayed in the daughters room that was full of horse and pony toys (don't think there were any MLP though lol). There was one toy that I absolutely loved. It was hard plastic (i think it was brown), maybe 6-7 inches tall (hard to remember scale as a kid so it may have been bigger) and was super realistic and fully pose-able/articulated. I'm talking, 3 joints in each leg, head movement up and down, and the entire neck up and down. I can't remember if it had brushable hair or plastic hair.
This would have been in either late 90s or earlys 00s, probably 2000s. And it was in good shape so fairly new at the time. Also, available in Australia.

Now I don't expect to get this exact horse lol, but I'd like to know more about what kind of articulated horse toys there are. I've seen a few on eBay but the prices seem pretty insane to me. So if you have one you're looking to sell let me know. But yeah, info and pics at least!

Thanks

And sorry if this is in the wrong place, it's not strictly a want-to-buy and I didn't know exactly where I should put it. Feel free to move if there's a more appropriate board :)

Yes, look up a picture of the Barbie horse named Dancer and see if that's the one you remember.  It sounds just like you are describing and what Lorelei was talking about.

I don't think Dancer is the right one. Here's a listing for him: http://theoldtoystore.com/1970barbiedancerhorsemintinnearmintbox.aspx He seems to be too old, and he doesn't have the neck movement at all.

Sindy horses might be a better bet. I know I have at least two fully jointed ones. They're about 30cm tall, and they are cream, but they do have the movement you describe.

The Dancer is definitely way too old lol
It didn't walk on its own and it hard 3 joints in all 4 legs so it's not the baby of mother... is there maybe a resource website of all the Barbie horses?
I googled the Sindy horses and they have the leg joints but none I found had the extra neck joint, I think it might me more that size too, very large.

My memory is really aweful... I think it did have brushable hair as well, not molded plastic.
I hope to some day get this horse but that seems pretty unlikely lol :P So maybe just a really articulated nice looking one for a decent price.

I want to say it's Happytime but since my memory is so cruddy I'll never know for sure, but I think you've found it! Now I wonder how hard it is to get one? lol
Or even just a similarly jointed horse, but I love to get one exactly like that. :P

Didn't the Grand Champions have an articulated-horse line? I'm not sure, but I thought I saw something like that! Could be worth checking out. :) Good luck!

The first thing that popped into my mind was the Johnny West horses. These things hold up extremely well and are super realistic and articulated.

Completed auctions:

Bay, but the neck doesn't move: http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-LOUIS-MARX-JOHNNY-WEST-BROWN-COMANCHE-HORSE-WITH-SADDLE-/180932832588?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a206fed4c

Head moves, but lets aren't articulated: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Marx-Toys-BUCKSKIN-the-Western-Range-Horse-and-HARNESS-JOHNNY-WEST-/290747854277?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item43b1ec2dc5

They did, but not one with the joints that Squiggle is talking about. The legs on those only rotated back and forward, no joints.
