Author Topic: 1980's Smurf Posters? Anyone know any info on them? pic included (Read 437 times)

So I was going through some bins and boxes in my closets today and came across this old Smurf poster. I don't know much about it but it's a very nice scene. It's smurfette watching out her window while a bunch of boy smurfs try to win her affection through music I'm guessing? I remember an old episode about that or something lol. Anyway in the corner it has a date of 1983. So I'm surprised it's lasted this long! It's actually in really good condition aside from the fold lines. It has no tears or rips. The white edging has slight paper discoloration but other than that it's pretty nice!

I'm posting it here because I can't make heads or tails of it's value or if it's part of a set or anything? So I'm hoping that someone that grew up in the 80's recognizes these or something so I can get a good idea for it. Not sure if I want to keep it or not. I love smurfs but don't collect it..

That's a nice poster. I like the artwork and it looks very 80s. So you have that going for it.

However, I've dabbled in smurf merch before and it doesn't seem to go for much. Just not enough collectors or something. I'm guessing the poster wouldn't go for much more than $5. This is a complete guess though but maybe someone has had one and can tell us the value.

I managed to find a bit of information. No value though. Though one from the set sold on ebay for like 30 dollars. That's.. pricey...

Anyway apparently it's part of a set of posters that came out in the 80's and were in cereal boxes? That's why it's all folded.

Oh yeah, I figured it was supposed to be folded that way. It looks to be in good condition.

Well I'm happy it's worth more than I thought. Although it's not too surprising that it's worth more. The artwork is very nice and the colors are great. It's not your typical blue sky green grass Smurf artwork.

It's a very pretty poster. I'm thinking about keeping it but still torn lol. I might try to sell it. Though I'd miss it because it really is unique looking.

I collect Smurfs, not actively now but I did.

I have that poster and I am pretty sure they came in Smurf Berry Crunch Cereal.

As far as value, I can't help as I got mine in a lot years ago.

I wish I had a measuring tape or ruler. I'd get a good idea of the size lol

You just reminded me, I have 2 full rolls of Smurf wallpaper sitting around... lol, and no wall available to put it on...

I decided.. I'm going to keep it! lol

It's just so cute and I love that it's not your typical smurf poster! I just need to find a frame that fits it and a space to hang it now!
