Another Great Week at the Flea Market + My First Tokidoki Unicorno! (Img Hvy!)

First off, my very first Tokidoki. I talked hubbs into getting her for me while we were at a local gaming shop where they had 2 of the plush for sale and several blind boxes. I'm hoping to get some blind boxes soon.

So we returned to Mile High Flea Market this weekend with my cousin in tow. I had wanted to get this gorgeous vintage carousel horse music box the last time we were there, but the seller was busy so I left it behind. It was still there when we showed up! Yay! It's a Quon-Quon music box from Japan and it plays "Life is a Cabaret". Still in fairly good condition, though there is a pretty serious rip in the fabric on the bottom of the box and the top where the horse sits is a tad wobbly.

I also found a stall I hit at the flea market last time and he had refilled his box of ponies! YAY! He is super duper nice. He remembered me from last time I went to his stall and was happy to see someone taking his ponies. I grabbed 30, hubbs offered the last of the money we had on us. The guy said yes and then said, "Take 5 more. I know you love ponies." One of the ponies we grabbed was all bit up and I didn't catch it beforehand, but I still got 34 ponies for $25, so I'm not complaining. I love this guy, he is so nice and he is always all smiles when I show up and start going at his pony box. As usual, they all need some scrubbing and their hair needs to be washed and styled, but nothing that can't be fixed (except the bite victim).

I really hope that mark on her hoof comes off ... I couldn't leave without her, despite it.

Any thoughts on how to display Loop-De-La? Maybe I should look for a loose base for her.

Congrats, some great stuff, love the carousel music box.  As to Loop De la you can take those skates off, it is  tricky but doable.

I am thinking about making a base for her myself. I found a base on eBay for about $6, but I only paid $.75 for the pony, so at this point I'm not ready to fork over that much for only the innermost part of the base. It doesn't come with the outer decorative part of the base. I guess I'll keep looking. Thanks for letting me know I can get the skates off. I may end up having to do that if I'm unable to make a base myself.

congrats on the great finds! it's so nice to buy from nice people, so I can understand why you're so happy about this guy! and it's also really lovely when they remember you, it's what makes a seller a good seller, as it shows they do care about their customers

I didn't ask at the shop how much they were. If hubbs takes me back this week/weekend, I can definitely tell you what they're selling theirs for. This is the first time I've seen them for sale in a store. They're for sale on Amazon for $3-$9, so I'd imagine ours are within that range, probably about $6-$8. My plush was $30 and they sell for about $15-$20 on eBay.
