Please help...Baity condition ponies? (Pic Heavy)
« on: July 19, 2012, 09:41:19 PM »
Please help me decide whether or not to bait or clean these ponies. Any help is appreciated! :) I haven't done any cleaning on them so some dirt may come off easily. I don't want to waste my time cleaning if it's not worth it.  I used spoilers since there are lot of pics. Thanks!

They all look fine to me, trips to the pony spa would help them out a ton and none of the problems look that bad or hard to fix.

Please do NOT bait them. If you don't want ponies in that condition, sell them, don't destroy them.

I wouldn't bait them, but that's just me! I think they would be appreciated by someone if you put them up for sale after a trip to a pony spa like the other poster suggested. It would be a shame to bait such a big lot of G1's. Those girls just had a lot of fun over the years and need a good clean and a nice retirement herd to join! I've found that cleaning up ponies that others would see as bait is very rewarding :)

I agree with the others. A nice cleaning would do them wonders, and if some are not your taste others might be up for them. I know I collect flutters/ wingers in just about any condition, so I'm sure there are many others that would pounce them. Course in the end of course it is up to you. I just agree on them not seeming baity.

Thanks so much! Your answers are encouraging. If I can find takers, I will definitely not bait them.

I was a bit scared of the stuff coming out of the holes in Princess Primrose. >_<

Regrind and cancer just irritate me. I want to do something with them. On darker ponies, I want to try dyeing the plastic with Copic markers. I don't want to let it defeat me. But I don't want to mess with them if someone can appreciate them as they are.

Thanks again! :D

None of them are bait worthy if you ask me. I mean, my standards for G1s are a little lower than some people's but even still I'm sure a lot of people will agree; these ponies just need some TLC and maybe a less picky owner (for the ones with cancer spots and regrind).

Especially UK Starlight! Oh my gosh I would just die if someone baited a Hair Do pony! =( Even in her condition (which COULD be much worse) being that she was not as widely released as other ponies, she should only be bait if she's, like, missing legs or something.

And Starflower is unfortunately rather prone to cancer, so that's really no reason to bait her of all ponies. She's still a popular one!

Primrose is pretty common but the holes under her hooves aren't visible on display. =P She actually looks like she has really nice hair and tinsel!

No bait. You have UK exclusives and non-beddy bye eye lickety splits too which are never bait.

Don't bait! *grabby hands* if you need to off-load any I'm sure I could find space for them. I am always wanting to save the broken ponies! Also, restoration is fun and quite satisfying when you have shinier cleaner ponies with conditioned hair. So you should try it, if you have time to do that kind of thing :)

I'd say Starlight, Bonnie Bonnets, and the baby ponies, could be restored very easily.

As for the others, they really would only fetch a few dollars each if you were to sell them.

But they are your ponies to do as you please with.

My baby Lickety split was in worse condition than yours, and I removed her rusty hair, fully cleaned her up and gave her new hair, I think all of yours here can be restored or rehaired, faded bodies are not as bad with new hair!
