People on Amazon can put whatever price thy want on things - doesn't men they'll actually sell for that much, though Wishful thinking!

The problem is, there doesn't seem to be much option for people who want it. I can't find a single website that has it in stock.

But yeah, there's no way I'm paying that. I'm so sad because I was really looking forward to getting that after falling in love with the G1 show during the PJ party at the fair. My money has been tied up in Ponies for the last month and a half so I never got a chance to buy it.

This! I have seen some random and wishful prices over the year! That price on Amazon has been floating around for a while now.

The set is much more popular in the last year than it has ever been before and it is certainly selling for higher than normal but not that much higher

They were in stock on play.com about a month ago but I believe they are all sold out now.

Argh, I noticed this just last night, and yeah-- I can't really find an option with a reasonable price. I believe the whole series is still on Youtube, but it'd be nice to have DVDs.

Wow, I'm glad I got my set and the movie when they first came out It seems they are always out of stock on TRU and Wal-Mart.com as well. Must be very popular!! I watch mine frequently, I love the series and I remember singing all the songs from the movie when I was a kid

Holy crap... if that's what the DVDs worth, then think about how worthy the original VHS tapes must be! *goes to  the second hand store to look for some VHS tapes*

But seriously? I have no idea what the person selling this DVD was thinking, when pricing it. I can guarantee that nobody, even the most hardcore collector, is going to buy this.

Oh well... might as well be a glitch at Amazon.com.

They never did a second season box set just some individual disks that made up the second season.

Seriously for $100 I'd give mine up.

I think that set is worth about $40-50. The $999.90 looks like a decimal typo. With Hasbro now owning the Sunbow properties I wonder if we will see another boxed set soon?

I bought my set at Entertainmart (it's a secondhand DVD/game/music place where people trade in old stuff) for $40.  I thought that was a bit steep at the time, but I'm glad I have it now...
