I'm pretty sure some people are going to go a bit nuts because it's Bubble Horse, but what really confuses me is the motivation to blend the generations like that.

Money.

Honestly, I don't think that she would look that strange to us if we weren't used to seeing the normal G4 mold and seeing that body mold with a G3 head.  The proportions are pretty much the same as on the other G4 toys--huge head, small body with relatively long, thin legs.

Still cheap on Hasbro's part, but I don't think the result looks bad.

Point taken.

Also you are right about the dimensions. They're not actually too far off in terms of proportion. What I find odd about them is they seem sort of bulbous.

I don't think it looks -bad-, per se, just.. I don't know. Odd. It's impossible to describe but my intuition doesn't process it.

Still. She is still a Ditzy.  ^.^

I think she's adorable. xD The franken body is a bit..odd, but it works.

I think she looks great! And it's a cute little shout-out to the collecting community, because only we would notice it's an old G3 body. XD (But yes, most likely just done to save them money, so they would only have to do a sculpt of a head and wings)

I also love her hair, and her big head. Hee hee, she's so cute!

Yaaaay for SDCC! Man i wish there was a way for us to get that big adorable figure... but as it's been mentioned before, it will probably go up on ebay for TONS of money. -.- (Would be nice if Hasbro donated the money to charity if they did that, but I'm not holding my breath on that one...)
Thank you Thimble for my amazingly cute avatar!

I think she's adorable! I'm not surpised she has an older body, since Hasbro has been known to reuse things. ;) Also, she's just a display mock-up, probably not intended for mass production, so why would they go through the extra trouble?

I don't mind the head/body ratio, but I don't like how her head is at a tilt.  She looks ditsy enough with her eyes that you don't need to have her tilting her head too.  Or maybe it is just the angle?  But the SDCC pony looks like her head is looking slightly to one side but is not tilted.  The display looks like a side look and tilt.

I think it's kind of cute. to be honest I didn't even notice it was a G3 body till someone pointed it out. Now I can't unsee it! D:

Plus the Brony side of things wildly varies, some don't bother with toys at all because they have concerns about owning them, or simply have decided they dislike the toyline as it's not "show accurate". Though Hasbro's recent overtures has grabbed their attention a little. I think in general they are just happy to see some background characters and others from the show get their dues, plus generally just pleased to see :muffin: Pony/Ditzy get a toy, after all that chaos earlier in the year where they thought Hasbro was about to delete her out of existance

Haha, wow, I wonder why they decided to use a G3 body for her!  It'll be interesting to see how this looks from some other angles, I'm sure we'll see more pictures. :)

To make this even more mystifying, Hasbro DID make a full giant G4 mold for the design a pony winner, so they did have the g4 body readily available. Soooo confuuuse lol

Maybe they just decided they wanted her in a different pose, rather than the G4 "I'm standing here doing nothing" pose? Or maybe they didn't have the giant G4 mold at the time, and that's why Tinker was just a cardboard cut out at preview night.
