I'm trying to describe a pony. Basically, there is a hole where the hair was torn out. I have no idea how to say this. What do you call the hair bunch that goes into the hole in the head?

Sorry if I sound REALLY dumb but I am having writers block. I used to know but now I can't remember.

I hope I'm making sense here...

Thanks! So I can write "She is missing a hair plug"?

I hope everyone will know what that means.

Yeah, that's fine. I would also say where it is missing from as a plug missing at the base of the mane is more tolerable than at the front imo.

Yes the each hank of hair in each hole is commonly called a "plug"...:) As moonflower says it really is important to mention where it is as well, as well as whether its completely gone or just cut.
