I love that seance one! So cool....that 1/6th scale crystal ball and stand is so cute!!!

Very inspiring pics there, will definitely be getting more adventurous with my photography and will try to think outside the box a little more.

Of note, the photos I picked out rely a TON on props and serious photo editing skills! I need to later pick out some great ones that are more for average photographers like myself! I don't have any crazy photoshop skills. Hell, I son't even OWN or know how to use it!

Some of those effects I recognise from Photobucket, but I wouldn't have a clue what to do with Photoshop either!!!

Thanks, for posting, Tuney. It's hard for me to visualize what judges want. This helps me immensely :)

Also, I have a question about posing. I don't feel like the model has to be looking at the camera every time (like the one of Operetta above) when do you feel they should look at the camera and when is it okay to not?

Salli, a model never has to be looking directly at the camera! I wouldn't recommend straight up profile shots on Monster High dolls, though, because you lose the face completely.

I don't have time to go sorting for images online now (I'm in the middle of a future challenge example photoshoot!) but here are some of my own images where the model pulled off not directly looking at the camera. In many cases, it actually enhances the photo. Shall we use Nefera as an example?

Really, it comes down to your own judgement. If it's good, it's good! There are no rules in MH photography other than to experiment and do your best in every shoot!

I looked at the Next Top Ghoul pix and judging. Do your judges have a similar scorecard when they look at a pic? I was just curious.

Honestly, I know nothing about that competition! I came across it after Cycle 1 was already in the works. Is there a link with the rules? Basically in ANTM, the four judges get together and deliberate like they do at panel on the real ANTM. We don't do any scoring really. We just come up with a final callout and leave it at that.
