My first custom.

I started work on this three years ago for the McPony competition and had to shelf the project when my life went belly up.  I've finally been able to come back and finish her now and it feels great!  I've learned a lot and made lots of mistakes but I'm happy with how she turned out in the end.  She's my first custom, but she won't be my last!  I have two more started.

For now I'm calling her Sea Sparkle.  She started as the G3 McPony Sparkleworks.  I challenged myself by removing her tail and giving her a proper one with real hair.  I didn't get her perfectly smooth, any tips?  I also accidentally removed the eyes from the start.  They were hard to get to the point where I was happy with them.  Also, I need to find a better sealer.  What do you think works best?

Still pondering a hairstyle for her and I need to get some shots in better light.

Oh, man, repainting eyes is evil.  I don't like doing it at allll.  I always have to, but we hates it, my precious.  It burns us.

I love her! Her body color is so sparkly! And she has little bubbles on her hoof!  I adore seahorses (weird AND cute, so total win).

I am super-impressed that this was a McPony; I have some of those and was wondering if it was possible to give them real tails.  APPARENTLY YES.  YES IT IS.  So. Awesome.  She looks really smooth to me!

I am not using anything but Testors Dullcote for a sealer from now on.  I am sure lots of folks will say the same.  I was dubious at best, but man, the stuff is amazing.  Just amazing.  Worth the trouble to find, worth the price!

Nicely done, that color is super.  As to getting it smoother the only thing I can think of is a Rio Rondo Scraper and then sanding with finer and finer grits of sand paper to get it nice and smooth.
