Am I losing my mind?

As far as I know, Mattel never made a brown vehicle for Barbie. That would go totally against their typical colors for her stuff.
Now there was a cream one. Take a look at this...there were three versions of that star trailer.

That might've been in. The yellow seems more familiar the more I look at it, but the cream colour does feel more "right". I'd only spotted pics of the 2 versions, I never realized there was a 3rd cream one.


It's quite possible it wasn't Barbie, but definitely something that fit those size dolls (since that's what we were playing with). I can't remember any logos or such on it.

sounds like what you had was an off brand like some of the jenny doll line that was barbie like.

I had one of those that was bright pink!!

 Also, the front came off and turned into a Jeep!

I remember the commercial for that! And how it made absolutely no sense.
