Unhappy Ebay buyers help please?
« on: June 28, 2012, 09:14:09 AM »
I'm not quite new to the world of ebay but in my rush of summer I've set myself up for problems. :/

I had a lot of g3s for sale 18 of them all have really nice bodies, 4 are like new, rest have tangled or slightly matted hair. Which we all know patience and conditioning can fix. One or two have mane trims.

I didn't consider them bait... and in my listing I stated: ponies in played condition. Most were got second hand and most have a few scuff marks, one or two have mane trims. Otherwise in nice shape for being used.

The pictures its clear about the tangles and a few mattes but I forgot to mention it!  :argh:

I take refunds but this lady wants 56% refund of 25 dollars because she's not willing to ship them back. I'm willing to agree to it because yes.. it was my fault for not being more specific but she's going on how they are garbage and should be thrown away!

Help please? I know this is a learning experience for myself as that's how I'll become a better seller.

If it shows clearly in the image and the woman thinks they are garbage that should be thrown away, I would refuse a discount and tell her that she may have a refund or she may keep them as is. If she doesn't want to return them then she can keep them at the price she paid.

Honestly, I do not do partial refunds unless I grossly misrepresent something.  And even then I am skeptical.

I would tell her that you do not do partial refunds and that a complete refund will be issued when the ponies arrive back to you.  Do not issue it before hand!!!   If she does not agree to it, that is fine let her open a case against you for Item Not As Described, because ebay will make her return them.  They will not force you to issue a partial refund.

My question is if they are such "garbage" why does she even want to keep them?? I would want to send them back if that was the case.

Good Luck and keep us updated!  Don't let it discourage you by any means.

I've offered a partial refund, mostly due to I'm a newer seller and I need good feedback. I also urged if she thinks they are garbage to donate them, in hopes they make some child happy. Also linked to The Pony Restore Project. I offered a bit lower than what she demanded since they all have nice bodies.. she'd be getting a steal if I agreed to her terms at .49 cents a pony! I know g3s are a dime a dozen right now but jeez... I admit I forgot to mention the matted hair and its hard to see in some of the photos and that is totally all on me.

Plus side, buyer agreed to what I offered. I'm glad to work things out.. I usually am more detailed in my descriptions. I should know better than to rush!

Wow, giving a partial refund is a big mistake. It just makes her into a more crazy buyer. You should have told her to return them. End of story.

Now she is sure to do this again. Don't be so scared just because you have a new account.
