I gotta get off of eBay...
« on: June 24, 2012, 07:36:12 PM »
Seriously... I just bought two ponies, one for a decent price, and another I probably WAY overpaid for.... and I am sitting here wondering about getting more [one I KNOW is overpriced, but I seriously want it now, and not in 6 months] I bought my first G1 tonight though. I'll let you know who it is when it gets here; I'm always nervous about counting my chickens [er... ponies] before they are in my mailbox.

Just wanted to share, anyone else get too excited in the last minute of a bid and just go "Did I really just pay that much for that pony?"

How much is "too much" for you?

Depends on the pony and her condition.

Anything over $20.00 ...unless it's rare/uncommon/etc. Of course, if I'm sad or bored..all bets are off.

my cheapness usually prevents me from getting in a bidding war over ebay ponies. If things go over $10 I'm usually out for most single ponies.

I tend to buy ponies less often but spend more on them.  Postage is just stupidly expensive, so unless it is a rare pony I'm spending a fair bit on already, or I'm buying a lot of cheap ones at once I just don't bother.  I have spent $200 on one pony.  I can't see me going over this price anytime soon, but I'm sure if I had the money I would :P

Oh the old "what the heck did I just spend for that *insert pony name, accessory or pony item here*" feeling...lol have had that one before!

I try to argue with myself that I may never see it for sale again so I have to have it now! Its not a good argument but I find in wins any guilt I feel over!

I'm right there with ya :P

It has happend on more than one occation that I find a pony in the grocerystore/online that I desperatly start to want. I tell myself: "No, better to save the money, you will find this pony again. Right now you shouldn't spend that kind of money on a pony". I look at it's cute little face abit longer and think to myself: "No I'm not leaving you behind!"
When I get home with the pony/are done ordering it online I'm usually struck with serious buyers remorse XD Kicking myself for spending money that could go to better things than ponies. But then I figure it's too late to do anything about it anyway (and throw the reciept away just to make sure of that :P)

:) I actually have the Cherilee and School Girls set in a box hidden under some clothes, waiting for a good time to pull it out so DH doesn't think I have lost my mind. But typically all receipts go in the trash immediately. I keep my girls on the coffee table for now, and he has started keeping a count [just out of good fun, he teases me about them]

I can't keep a secret, my *overpriced* pony was Chief! I just had to get into that little bidding war. He looks to be in great shape, and he has his hat and scarf! The seller has already got him ready to ship. Let's hope this tropical storm we've got doesn't interrupt the mail service. :)

I'm usually pretty cautious when it comes to paying a lot for a pony. Then again, if there's only one available, and I don't think I'll find another, it is very likely I'll be considering it! :P

I haven't been on eBay lately, for that very reason. I just can't justify spending lots of $$ on ponies, but boy would I be tempted. I'm still itching to get Munchy and SS Crumpet.

My hubby was shocked when I asked him if I could buy Bright Eyes for $25, since he knows I don't normally spend that much on ponies. :D

I think $80 is the most I've paid for a pony. It's a really minty Tux 'n Tails with his bow tie.

I usually don't spend that much though.

sometimes I bid modestly on a pony I want (<$30)... but end up getting out bid.  But what is fun for me ... (dare I SAY!!)  is that the whole 8 hours I'm am the "Highest Bidder", I feel like I own it!!! LOL.    Sometimes, just sometimes, (esp when the pony goes way high),  that is just enough for me. ;)   :accomplished:

The most expensive pony I bought so far was G1 Princess Sparkle for £15. I don't think I'll ever spend more on one single pony, really.
