they followed the book very very very closely, cast it perfectly, no annoying elf woman.

Galadriel makes an appearance, but no romance and it makes sense. They added a ton of stuff in from the appendixes as well as Radagast the brown!!!! it was EPIC! I was squealing with joy through the whole movie.

I also had a lot of issues with changes that were made in Lord of the Rings, especially Arwen *eye twitch*

Then I am a bit more hopeful. And yeah- Arwen suddenly in EVERYTHING and the complete diminished of the swordmaidens of Rohan- like cutting them out of every battle completely to add in more elves of all things- irked me the most.
Arwen was done to add more of a female presence to the movies? But then they actually cut out most of the badass women that orginally were there.

agreed, and she replaced my Glorfindel >:I *throws rocks at Arwen and tells her to get back in her little dress and sing for guests*

random LOTR rant/review :

I loved how they did the Fellowship but they veered more and more away from the story as it went on. They cut out all of my favorite parts from the book in Return of the King (luckily for them they put 2 of them in the extended version). And what happened to the Scouring of the Shire? What a boring ending. All of them. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Glorfindel, oh Glorfindel.  I didn't mind having Arwen in it as much because I got to drool over her dresses and the Rivendell sets (except for that ridiculous toga thing, wth was thAT!?!) I LOVED the Hobbit. Except the parts with Radagast the Brown. I thought they could have done a better job with him. It has been a while since I last read the Hobbit so it didn't offend my memory of the book Also, I am crushing on Elrond a bit so I love the parts with him in it

I'm still afraid to see it. I hated the Lord of the Rings movies because of how badly they mangled the characters, and the Hobbit is much dearer to me. Plus from the trailers Ive seen they're doing the exact same things that drove me nuts in the LotR movies. Adding stupid Elf Chick in it... growling.

On a lighter note, I got a lot of progress done today when I invaded VJs!

I'm starting to panic a little with my pony... I'm afraid I may need to ask for an extension.
I'm working very hard right now in order to meet the deadline but don't know if I can make it. Will have to see how far I've gotten by the 8th. I'm only painting now, and I haven't even started on the outfit yet...

I don't think I'm going to make it either.. I was supposed to get the last major piece I needed in the mail yesterday, only to find out it was JUST shipped TODAY, I'm so angry right now! I don't know when it's finally going to get here, and after that I don't know how long it's going to take me to get it modified to how I need it. I'm so upset right now... I can't believe that ebay shipper was SOOO irresponsible! I was supposed to get it at the LATEST by yesterday!
