Heyho,

I just want to say "hi" to everyone and introduce myself.
I'm 26 and from good old Germany. At the moment I'm studying to become a German/History teacher. Sounds boring? It is!  :P
I always loved everything MLP related as a child and after I chatted with a good friend about MLP and 80s toys/stuff in general I just got back into it.

At first I was like "I just want to buy one pony: The one I got first as a child", then I was like:" OMG, there are sooo many beautiful ponies out there, gimme gimme gimme!  >_<" Gosh, I don't think this will end well. I just love G1 and MLP:FiM (I just decided to collect only G1 Ponies).
Well, what else to say? I love to draw, hang out with friends, watch movies. I have two doggies, a Jack Russell gramps and a French Bulldog that farts like there's no tomorrow.  :biggrin:

So, that's it for now. I'm looking forward talking to you guys. And maybe trading :)

Hi, Glitzer, and welcome to the Arena!

History's wonderful!  It was always one of my favourite subjects in school - so interesting, how people lived & how those lives intertwined in the years/centuries. ^.^ Now I like historical novels (not so much the mooshy romance ones, but gritty ones), yay!  I'm interested to hear what a bonafide history teacher (to be) might recommend?

Good luck with your collection (and your farty dog and not-so-farty dog :lol:), and enjoy!

I am also  interested in History, but studying it means reeeeally long lectures (especially when the Prof is just reading out the whole time and you sit there like  :snore:.)
Oh, there are a few good historical novels, I don't know if you know them, but I can absolutely recommend the books from Ken Follett, especially "The Pillars of the Earth" and "World without end".  :thumb:

Oooo, Ken Follett!  Yes, Pillars of the Earth was excellent.  I loved the tempo of that book - something good happens, something bad happens, something even better happens, something even worse happens... it was like a total roller coaster ride!  I had some trouble getting into World Without End, tho.  Maybe I'm due to try it again...

Have you read the Masters of Rome series by Colleen McCullough?  That's another really good set.

Er... back to ponies...  :blush:
