Did i overpaid for her please ?
« on: June 20, 2012, 07:23:33 AM »
I have a problem with a seller on ebay who wrote that the pony were perfect but here's she ! I'm so desapointed.

Bright eyes seven characters

her hair is silky and soft, one rub to right symbol but she had pink ink on ears, eyes, mouth, front and blush i think. She had some ink marks on body.

I spend 25 dollars for her, what do you think please ?

Poor Brighteyes... I hate the rampant dishonesty that I've been seeing on ebay lately....

In any case, I still think she was worth it, as I've seen her go for a bit more, but that was a few years ago. You can probably sunfade the pink away and repaint the eye but it stil leaves a sour taste in my mouth that this seller said she was perfect =/

I hate seller dishonesty.  Someone would have still bought that pony despite its flaws - 7 Tales ponies are pretty popular.

That said, I don't think you overpaid - at least not by much.  I've seen her price rise in the last 6 months, as with the other 7 Tales.  The flaws aren't extremely major ones, and the hair seems to be in good shape.

I think so but i'm so desapointed, the seller still saying that she's perfect and only propose me refund for her (but without shipping cost) and i have to return it to her, i think it's unfair.... I don't know what to do...

When i sell ponies i don't say they are perfect if they aren't !

thanks you for your help.

Would keeping her but leaving appropriate feedback be an option?  I know it sucks to not get a partial refund, but it's a tough choice between giving her up and looking again or not.

Oh my... poor you. :(

Seller dishonesty is one of the things that really puts me off. I mean, I know they're desperate to sell their stuff but would it really be THAT much of a problem to be honest and write the true condition of the pony in the description? Sure, it may make some of the potential buyers disinterested in the pony, but there are still those who'd be willing to buy it and then restore it.

I hate to break this to you, but I think you might paid a bit too much. :( I mean, her body's nice and her hair looks to be in perfect condition, but the seller shouldn't have asked for her that much because still the pony has some flaws on her like the markings, and slight symbol rub. So regardless, the seller should've dropped the price a little. But that's just my opinion.

I think the best option would be to ask for partiall refund. I'm not sure if returning the pony would be a good idea: you can always try sunfading the pink marker, and trying to make some touch-ups to the symbols. As long as it's something that's beyond repair, you can always give it a try and restore it. :)

I've recently had to deal with this on an item I bought - MIB yet too. TAF Megan and Sundance that I bought smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and the doll had mold growing on her dress.

Opened a case with eBay and tried to work things out with the seller - they even tried to tell me that the fuzzy mold was glow in the dark spots on the dress....

ended up having to escalate the case and eBay sided with me but I have to send it back to get a refund so now while I'll get my money back I'll have to hunt down the set again....

If the seller would have worked with me I was hoping for a partial refund since I would have had to open the package to get to the dress to clean the mold off...

I'd personally keep her honestly and leave negative feedback, item not as described.

Most of the time I think "Well this person probably isn't a collector so she doesn't realize how important it is to tell all the flaws of an old toy." However this person was clearly being dishonest. You could NOT look at a pony with pink marker on its face and call it "perfect condition."

I think you can open up a claim with ebay, but be warned you might have to return the item to get any refund.

Also you should try posting this in Trader Support forum for more advice from people who have to deal with this before. :)
Thank you Thimble for my amazingly cute avatar!

I agree with the ones saying keep her and leave negative feedback. While $25 seems to be a good price for her in this condition, being a pony not available in the U.S. and all, she wasn't like she was described.

Wow many thanks you, friendly people for these advice, i agree with all of you.

I never had such problem before....

I asked the seller a partial refund and if she refuse i will leave her a negative feedback (don't like to do this) saying : item not as describe.

I will keep this bright eyes with the rest of my herd, she will be happier than were she was !

If she said "perfect" but listed the flaws of ink on her body and some marks.... I think that's what you got.  Just because they say perfect obviously doesn't mean it is if the seller goes onto describing the flaws.    I think you can possibly push a partial refund but don't mention feedback if this is Ebay...

Hope this works out for both parties!
