Help my pony got rashes ;~;
« on: June 13, 2012, 10:58:27 AM »
A few weeks ago I bought a very lovely Party Time with minor regrind like a small small speckle on her leg and on a field trip with my other TEs today I noticed she had developed big blots of regrind!  :yikes:
She is almost mint I'd say if you'd count out the regrind, now I'm sad because she looks like she's having chickenpox rashes in her face!

Will sun make is worse or can I try fading the spots? I want to save my lovely pony. ;~;

Unfortunately there seems to be no fix for regrind. ):
My only suggestion would be to send her to someone who knows how to use an airbrush well enough to colour match and cover up her spots.. :<

There really isn't much you can do when your pony has regrind.
If you are good with painting you can try mixing acrylic paints to match the pony's color and paint over the regrind. I've never tried it myself, but I've read that is what some people to help cover it.

I don't think there is even a way to slow regrind :(

But the good news is eventually she should all be one color again, although it will be the regrind color :)

Evil...regrind is officially the nastiest pony condition as it cannot be cured and will simply continue to spread. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to stop or reverse it...sorry!

The only thing I can say is that every Party Time seems to suffer this in a tiny or tremendous way! [I know thats a bit wide spreading but lol its how I feel...I have had about a dozen on the blighters and they always "catch" it eventually]

I'm sorry, but regrind is incurable.

 Bummer!

Regrind plastic is essentially recycled scrap most of it is made of ground down post use industrial plastics from other manufacturing processes. Essentially plastic which has been formed by reusing previously used plastic - "regrind" is mixed with new material and then moulded. What we call "regrind" in ponies is essentially this plastic degrading and "separating" back to its original pre mix condition. It can come in different colours and happens on lots of different plastic made products.

Yea sadly what others have said. There is nothing that can be done to stop the process and I would be sure to keep them out of the sun and heat if at all possible.  Party Time is noted for having it and one spot leads to two and so on.  Its a problem in the plastic itself so you can't reverse it and if you try to sun fade it, you will just change the color of the spots, but they will all be there and very visible and maybe you will even have new ones due to the sun.  I have a baby shady with it. Her head is so covered its turning purple..I love her anyway.  Maybe someday I will get a new one.  I also have a flutter pony with it.  I keep all of my ponies in a cabinet away from light.  I learned with old dolls that light and heat are huge enemies with all collectibles made of plastic, wood and vinyl. :|

Are you sure it's regrind, though? A few weeks seems rather fast for it to develop.

Could you possibly share a picture or two of the pony in question, Emfen?

I'll share some pictures when I get proper lighting, it was very clear when the sunlight shone on her face today. It appeared as highlighted orange spots on her face, then I noted.. she got a like dark brown dot with highlighted orange around it. Have she got cancer too? :yikes:

Does it look more like mold or cancer? Try looking and reading these and looking at the pictures and compare it your pony.
