TAF Sunshine Megan

Recently I won a MIB TAF Megan and Sundance Set. Problem started after I got the set - they smelled like cigarettes and Megan had some fuzzy yellow patches on the dress. I contacted the seller and they state the the patches are glow in the dark not mold like I think they are. I've never come across a TAF Megan with glow and the dark patches on the dress and was wondering if anyone else has heard of this....

I've never heard of it either; why would a "Sunshine" Megan have a glow in the dark dress? *shakes head* maybe someone at the Hasbro factory messed up and put Moondreamers gitd fabric on her dress on accident:P

Seriously though, if it is legitimate (ie glow in the dark and not mold) you most likely have a factory error doll. Megan will be ready for Day and night, hehe.

Hmm....I lost my Megan to that set so long ago, but Sundance's hair changes color in the sun - is it possible Megan's dress does the same?

Guessing you have shone a torch/held them under a light for a few minutes and then run to a dark spot with them

If it were mold, especially damp based I'd expect it to be green/black and absolutely everywhere.

Hard to get pictures of but you can kinda see the yellow spots all over the dress..

They do NOT look glow-in the dark.

Most glow-in-the dark items I have seen have a green tinge to them... Have you tested it to see? Also why would it NOT advertise that she was glow-in-the-dark on the box?

I'm actually kinda sure it's mold. The spots are not uniform and the spot on the right shoulder is rather larger. Wish I could get it to show up better in the pictures...

Maybe the cigarette smoke did something to the fabric? I know the smoke can cause yellow build up on things like glass due to the nicotine and tar in it.

Doesn't look like glow-in-the-dark to me . . . You should be able to test it, in any case, by shining a light on them at close range for a few minutes and then putting the box somewhere dark to see if they glow.

Not glow in the dark. I have this girl and she does not have this. My guess is that it it's age related stains. I have a Jem Raya doll NRFB and the glue from her belt leaked and caused some little yellow stains on her blouse. Unfortunately, even items in their original boxes can have deterioration because of time, but that's no excuse for the seller trying to make up things.

I think the seller is imagining things! I guess she must know the doll "does something" and is mistaking "glow in the dark" from her colour changing hair.

The fabric is 25 plus years old after all so I guess it is ageing as many fabrics will depending on the humidity/location they are kept in.
