I may be overworking myself, but this is the first large fire that's been near my house since I got here in January. I think it's less than 20 miles from the house now- and considering it's burned over 20 miles so far, I'm sort of freaking out over here!
I will add the wolves to my prayers. We have lots of friends and family in that area since I went to college there too and we are anxiously tracking the course of the fire as well. Everyone in Colorado stay safe!
Thank you so much for this wonderful outpouring of concern and support for the wolves. With all the destruction and tragedy resulting from this fire it is easy to loose sight of the positive. Though we are still concerned for the wolves who have not been evacuated, we wanted to let you all know that the animals who are off the mountain are doing fantastic in their temporary homes and are even enjoying some of the specialized attention they are receiving.
Oh my... how scary! I hope that things turn out for the best! Wildfires are a huge inconvenience but they are part of the natural cycle of how pinecones release their seeds to become trees, and it refreshes the soil with nutrients...
