Boiling Water Really Does Work For Frizz!
« on: June 09, 2012, 05:36:50 PM »
I found Super Long Hair Dibble Dabble at a flea market today. I almost didn't buy her because her mane and tail were just horrible! Totally matted and dry. Then I remembered reading somewhere on the forum that dipping the hair in boiling water would help. I was scared but decided I didn't have anything to lose. I brushed it out, shampooed and conditioned her hair. Then I just dipped her hair into the boiling water a couple of times and it came out perfect again! I couldn't believe it!

It's pretty amazing what conditioner and boiling water can do for a pony. A tail or mane that once looked like it had to go can look brand new again. You should post pictures of her! ^_^

Wow. I figured it only worked for styling hair. I just gave it a go with my Petal Blossom and styling Rarity. The result (top photo shows them before):

Didn't take it out completely (doesn't appear to work on tinsel) but it's better than the "Cousin It" look before!

hmm, I'm going to have to try this today. Funny thing is, I've done this to remove kinks and other issues in the hair from rehairing, but I never thought to try it with other types of bends in the strands.

I am totally going to have to do this on some of my ponies. I have tried only conditioner and very hot water but it hasn't done much so far...
