If a heating pad would work, then maybe use a towel soaked in hot water? Not boiling, just hot.
Dents like that can go away on their own I think though, in time.
you might try a blow dryer. make sure you don't get it so close that is bubbles the paint or melts him. but it may be just a nice sunny window could do the job. be patient it may take a bit.

I just went to check on my Clawd because he came out of the box like this, and the dent has got better with time It's still there but I have to look really close to see it.
