Help me fix up my MH Clawd
« on: June 08, 2012, 10:59:54 PM »
Hi all,

I recently found a Sweet 1600 Clawd, and while I wasn't planning on buying a Clawd at all and the price tag was NZ$53, when I saw that gorgeous dress that comes with him, I gave into temptation ...

I don't regret it. However, I was a bit disappointed to find, when I got him home and took off his sunglasses, that they appear to have left a crease in his face:

It was suggested to me on Flickr that I wrap him up in a heating pad for a few hours. Unfortunately, I haven't got a heating pad, and I can't really justify going out to buy one just to fix up one doll. Anyone got any other suggestions? I'd prefer not to boil his head in water, as I imagine that would take out the gel in his hair, but if that's the only other option, then I'll do that.

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Jonathan

oh no don't boil him! I hear that makes the face paint flake and bubble!

Other than that I can only suggest emailing Mattel? :(

If a heating pad would work, then maybe use a towel soaked in hot water? Not boiling, just hot. Dents like that can go away on their own I think though, in time.

I tried e-mailing Mattel about some other stuff recently and they never got back to me.

OK. I could try that.

I was hoping that might be the case.

you might try a blow dryer.  make sure you don't get it so close that is bubbles the paint or melts him.  but it may be just a nice sunny window could do the job.   be patient it may take a bit.

OK. Thanks. We certainly do have a hair dryer.

WHAAAT? I've boiled doll/pony heads before with no damage. That's just silly. Step up your quality, Mattel!  :shakefist:

I just went to check on my Clawd because he came out of the box like this, and the dent has got better with time :) It's still there but I have to look really close to see it.

Is that with his sunglasses on or do you leave them off most of the time?
