Love these kinds of threads!  Different voices and accents fascinate me, and I often wonder what people on the other side of the computer screen sound like.  Here's a little 40 second clip I just made:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9Ye3S4_2FA

(There's a couple of nasty singing videos on that account too, but you probably don't want to hear those! :P)

As I said in that clip, PLEASE post your own voices.  You don't think you have an accent because you're surrounded by people who speak the same way, but we ALL have our own unique voices and dialects. ;)

Hmm, no idea how I can make a clip of myself speaking :P (any hints?)
When I speak Serbian (my mother tongue) I have a strong Belgradian accent (where both me and my partents are from so it figures) but I´ve actually been asked many times if I´m from the northern part of Serbia where they speak kind of drawn out :P

As for English, until I moved to Iceland I had an unfocused british accent. I love northern accents (scouse <3) but as I´ve never really been to the UK I never localised it. I was told by a Scotsman though that I sound South African, but then I met a southafrican that (obviously) denied that but said he could kinda hear where the other guy was coming from. lol

Then I got to Iceland and met sooo many americans and now everyone here (that's not a native english speaker) thinks I´m from the US or Canada (or at least that i´ve lived there) and i´ve never even been across the Atlantic.

When I speak Swedish I sound like i´m from Stockholm and when I speak Danish I sound like I´m from Bornholm :P (because my danish is basically half swedish :P )

When I speak Icelandic i sound like crap :( :( The only language I just really can't get a hang of... and the only one I really need.

I haven't got a soundclip at the moment but have been told I have a back east accent.  It makes sense.  My mom was raised back east with her Italian grandparents.  XD  I got her accent.

I don't think I have any unique American accent (like southern, northern, brooklyn, redneck, etc). It's just average.

I have always wondered how our accents sound to other English-speaking countries. My brother said he heard that other countries say our accents make us sound like bullfrogs? Is this true? I won't be offended. :P

Darn tv, it's making all our accents go away. I love British/Irish/Scottish accents sooo much, but I cannot understand a word people say who speak with a thick Welsh accent.

I have always wondered what American accents sound like. For instance, most British accents sound very crisp and precise (even Cockney!). Very staccato. I always wonder if Americans sound like we are very slow, and thick tongued.

When I was being questioned for jury duty the judge commented that my voice was so high I could've broken the glass in the windows ^^;  It's pretty high, I guess, and gets higher when I'm nervous. Or speaking Japanese, LOL.

Thanks to the audiobook of Howl's Moving Castle I recently discovered that one of the accents I really love is a Welsh accent! Before that I didn't know what region it was from (just knew that it was used by Tyrion in the ASoIaF audiobooks, heh).

I have a very distinct accent being from Liverpool in England.
Yay I'm scouse!

I talk incredibly quickly and I have known friends of mine from other places to struggle to understand what I'm saying or keep up with me I talk that rapidly.
Good luck to anyone who listens in on a conversation between Antlercat and I. It's like a million mile an hour :p

Anyyyyway.
Voice clip.
This is fairly old since but my voice hasn't changed much, maybe less of a high pitch.

Oh, oh! Chance to plug my pony podcast! http://soundcloud.com/doctormowinckel/ponies-keep-me-up-all-night-1

I lived in Canada till I was nine, then moved to the states, and moved to Toronto when I was 21, and back again to the states when I was 24.

It puts me in the unique position where everyone in Canada pegs me as being American and everyone in America pegs me as being Canadian.

I can relate, Doc. I'm from Wisconsin. People I've met in Florida always think I'm from Canada >.>

According to them I say the following words very Canadian-y; milk (melk), roots (like soots with an r), and garage (gay-rage). My Canadian friends disagree!

I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to upload a voice memo from my ipod, but then I remembered a pony related video that I posted to youtube a while back:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDLvOegWGJ4&feature=plcp

I fell into a weird "video tone" (if you know what I mean), heh heh, but it IS me talking XD    :accomplished:

Ok guys, watch what you say in these, please. I don't want to have to delete a bunch of your lovely voices because of language. We'd like to be able to hear you, but it needs to stay PG13. Thanks.

I've always lived in Colorado, our accent is really plain.  I can't hear it at all, but it's probably because I'm used to it.  *shrug*  The only sound clips with my voice are ones with my dogs, so I'm using my silly dog voice.  Not a great example lol
