Very first custom

This is one of two. I'm hoping the second will be done by this time tomorrow. I have to get her hair in and give her a boil perm. They are for the two girls next door. They were supposed to be for Christmas but their birthdays were in May so I'm thinking they'll just be a late birthday presents because I can't wait for them to see them!

She was a blank pony from Hasbro. I painted her with Apple Barrel and Folk Art paints. Sealed her with Modge Podge and reahaired her using the needle and thread method with Gingerbread from dolly hair.

She is a great first custom. I am not sure if it is the lighting but is her back lighter then her body?  It looks a little distracting.  Where you going for a blended look?  I love the hair, it is a nice contrast and her eyes are lovely.

Aaahhhh that hairsyle <3!! And I absolutely love the whitish spots/stripe on the back. Reminds me of a baby deer ^__^

I used the sgenes from Ponyisland.net. There's one called Fawn and she has Colorized Fawn. The two colors are a lot closer than I had intended but it looks a lot better when you're holding her. I'll be the first to admit my lighting sucks and all I have to take pictures is my iPhone lol

I think she looks lovely. The paint job is nice and smooth, the hair is well done, everything else just experience. I would suggest getting a shiny or gloss sealant for the eyes. I know Mod Podge has a glossy one.


Once again, she is beautiful.
