Shine Bright Rarity Anatomy!
« on: June 05, 2012, 04:00:16 PM »
I found a Shine Bright Rarity at the thrift store and I want to customize her by giving her new hair and a new cutie mark. I managed to open the body so I will be able to get at the tail. Here is how she looks with her body disassembled. She is just glued along the seam so a little exacto and brute force works here

Here is her head dissected. I carefully cut a ring around the neck in case I had to glue it back in and just pulled the plug out. As you can see the light of her horn is part of the plug. The plug snaps into the horn and is held securely inside the head.

Now she is pretty much ready to customize.

EDIT: You have to pull on the tail to get it out. It is in one of those metal clamps that they usually use to clamp the tail but with the extra loop cut off.

it looks like your going to have to cut the neck out, don't worry you can always glue the head back on to the body, thats what I would do :D

i was thinking you would have to cut the neck plug.....which i always hate doing. but getting pliers in there with those wires in the way would be really difficult.

Thanks for the tip since it gave me an idea. I figured if I cut a neat, clean ring out of the neck I could glue it back in. After I did that I discovered something awesome. The plug is a solid piece with the light part and it snaps into the head. I was able to put her back together and while holding the body together I could get her neck to still turn!

you did better than me, I couldn't break my SB RD in half to get the stuff out of her... too scared bout ruining the plastic and such.

I thing though, you should still be able to pull the head off of the plug... my RD had a ridiculously long plug in her and it took some tugging to get it out

I wasn't so worried about ruining things since glue works wonders. I got the plug out after removing a ring of plastic. I was worried there were wires inside but if I ever get another one I might just use pliers since there are no wires in there.
