Anyone have a G1 pony with brittle hair?

I'm clearing through my duplicates, and found I have an extra Nurse Tenderheart.

She's got sun-damaged hair, faded eyes, and the heat transfer on her symbols appear to have faded off. I just washed her hair in anticipation of re-homing her, to find it's coming out in clumps! 

Her hair is just literally snapping off at the roots. Has anyone experienced this before?

Whilst she has her problems, I wouldn't say she's at bait level, as she actually doesn't have any marks to her body - just the sun damage. What sort of price would you suggest for her? I was going to ask for about £10 before she er, started her 'treatment'.

hmm I am thinking £5-10.... it depends who wants to buy and if they are willing to pay more... I personally would be put off by the sun damage, however I am sure you can fix her hair!

She looks like she needs to be re-haired sadly. I think had her hair not started to fall out, £10 wouldn't have been too much I think £5 is more like it, unfortunately, as most people would be put off by the sun damage (I know I would be - half the fun is the changing symbols!)

Why not get some dolly hair and make her a project?? She'd look great with shocking pink or bright yellow hair ......why not post a pic, i didn't think she looked that bad last time I saw her x

Her hair must have either been exposed to sunlight for a long time or a chemical or sea water or something which would cause the plastic to turn brittle! Thats a shame...

As you mention she is a sought after pony and even with the damage someone will be interested as she is too rare a pony probably to bait...but I would put her around the £4-5 mark as is...you may get £7-8 for her if she is perfectly rehaired. It all depends on how bad the sun damage is - has it affected just the symbols or her body colour as well?

Her body colour looks okay, I'll take a photo of her next to my normal one for comparison.

If you're looking to sell her, I'll take her as is and rehair her myself. (Assuming you are willing to part with her and shipping won't be too much) I have a pretty large hank of saran Lemon Blonde for rehairing another pony and while not a complete match to Nurse Tenderheart, I think it'd look very pretty on her. I could always try the shocking pink idea, too. ^_^

I had a brush and grow pony with the same hair issue however it was just with one color. It was really strange because she was in great shape as well. I hope the rehair goes well for you.

My Goldilocks is like this, her hair was also cut. It happened before I got her.

I haven't had that happen with ponies, but I have had it happen with strawberry shortcake dolls.  I suspect it's from sun exposure.  I'd rehair her!!

Both ponies side by side. Her eyes aren't actually as bad as what I thought, but her poor hair ;___;

Sadly a few other ponies that were in the same lot of I bought were in similar condition. Baby Alphabet had no hair at all

Poor girl, but I'm sure a rehair will look great on her! I have a G3 in that state, I couldn't even try to comb out her hair. It would just crumble almost. Unfortunately he symbol is rubbed off in one place so I'm selling her as bait for $1.

Oh my thats some hair difference! I dont think her body or eyes look too bad - its quite common for nurse symbols to look like that. I think with a rehair she should certainly be in the £8 region. And that would be a fab price for a rather hard to find pony!
