Covering a hole from 3d symbol or jewel?
« on: June 03, 2012, 12:21:23 PM »
Alright I am having some serious issues here. I have a pegasus that had a jewel in it, I removed the jewel and am trying to cover the hole with Apoxie.. I can't get it smooth and even though.. I have tried it twice and both times I use a little water on my hands to smooth it down but I am just not succeeding.. sooo what's the trick? What am I doing wrong?

Smooth from both the inside and outside at the same time?  Not much help as I have never used the stuff.

Smooth it while working on it and when it's hard use a fine grade sandpaper to get it super smooth!

I think the more difficult part is getting those suckers out!  I had a heck of a time with Hidden Treasure's.  All my Pegasus baits have some kind of 3D symbol too.  :(

I make my husband do mines haha. I think I managed getting one out myself but now I have him do the rest cause he can get them done much quicker. I haven't done a 3D symbol yet though so I'm sure those are a bit more challenging then the jewels

I'm working on one right now that I just cut out a chunk of her butt to get the jewel out. But, she'll have a lot of sculpting so it didn't really matter.
