Hey everypony.
Just got my new print issue of Wired yesterday and it has an article on cartoons from the 80s compared to modern cartoons, specifically MLP, and they have a quote for Lauren Faust that I haven't heard before.
The main point was that in the 80s the cartoons were advertisements for the toys, but because they were "hollow" it meant that kids were able to use their imaginations to fill in the emptiness.
Neat article, not too long, but thought I'd give you a heads up. I'll update this post with the link, if I can find the online version of the article (they might delay it a few days of the print article)
