This is my first attempt on customizing a pony. I started quite some time ago. Never got to finish due to... stuff, I suppose.
With that first pony customation I picked the wrong paint. I specifically asked the seller if it was suitable for hard rubber-like, and he said "Yes, very."
Now reading several tutorials here on the forums, it's very clear that "model-paint" (used for model cars  ) is nice, but not right for ponies at all.

But here we go. In the mean time my pc has crashed and I it regrets me to say I no longer have the pictures of when I started  .

It all started with a very poorly treated Lickety Split. I remember her symbols being faded and her manes cut off very short.
Just for fun here's a picture of a Lickety Split (HK) I have in my collection. (the one I used to customize had white hair).

All I did was remove the hair and clean her, before painting her.
After the paint dried, I added her tail and started on the manes.
This is the result so far. I call her Lunar Eclipse  .

I do hope to finish her soon  ^.^ .
To be continued...

So far so good! But I have to say that model paint meant for cars can indeed be used on ponies. You just have to know what to look for. There are two types. Enamel, and Acrylic. Enamel is the most common, and it has a metal base. It is bad for ponies. However, Acrylic, sometimes labled as Acryl, is safe to use on ponies, and works beautifully. I use Model Master Acryl paint, along with Vallejo airbrush paints. Both are acrylic and pony safe.

LOL! You're totally right!  It IS Posey I meant *giggles*.

Gah, I do remember now why I stopped customizing her... The hairs I use... are's totally tangled up!
I've spend hours to untangle it..but it's simply said too frustrating.
Is there a trick to NOT to tangle up the strings of hair? *pouts*

Yeah, I have the Enamel version here unfortunately. I should go hunt down Acrylic for a next project (once I have the hair situation under controle again ;)).
Thanks for explaining this!
