My Little Quetzalcoatl WIP (new pics updated 5/7)
« on: May 07, 2012, 07:51:20 AM »
so I've got an update on my reposed Quetzalcoatl pony.... and I've come down to needing some advice.  I had this big grand vision of this pony wearing this big headdress and with giant outstretched wings that come forward slightly (kinda like this: http://www.elfwood.com/art/m/o/monicaples/wingeduni2.jpg ) but the headdress kinda got bigger than I had originally planned, though I'm quite happy with it.... so Now I need advice...

1. Should I leave the wings off?
2. Should I put wings outstretched backwards on it?
3. should I keep my original plan of wings forward?
4. any other suggestion for how to balance it out? (seems top heavy right now)

Also I'm in need of Satsuma nylon hair... just about 1/4 of a hank for this pony

I'd maybe do back and up stretched wings to balance it. (I can't seem to open the link so I have no idea what you planned)

the wings are pulled back a bit with the wing tips forward on the picture, so I'm trying to decide between that an outstretched backward

I am not too sure with the wings as always need to get a feel for the weight of the piece, it looks absolutely fantastic though x

that's kind of what I'm starting to think too, the piece is quite top heavy right now

I think I'd do wings back and out, with maybe the tips curling a little forward like he's taking flight or something.  (I can't see the pic you linked)  He looks really cool so far either way!
