MH Custom Question
« on: May 04, 2012, 11:13:58 PM »
For the fun of it I've been working on a custom MH Dragon using the CAM set, but I'm having some major issues getting her joints painted >_> I put the paint on, let it dry, move an arm or a leg, and the movement scrapes the paint off. Anyone who has done a FBR on a MH doll have any tips for painting the joints?

What did you seal the paint with? Maybe use modelling paint?

I just used mod-podge, since at current that is all I've got. It's so annoying, since the rest of the body is sealed up nicely and giving me no problems. Its just those silly joints! XD

I dunno about joints.. But i've been using a spray sealent that  is suppose to leave a plastic coating. but with sealants you have to do 2-3 layers. I usually do 4 to be sure, but you have to make sure it's dry before you add another layer, not just dry to the touch other wise it can fog and look crap. maybe trying sealing a little more around the joints?

Spray sealant I heard is the best. Testor's Dullcoate or Model Master's are what I've heard suggested.
Maybe take the limbs apart when you paint? Let them fully dry and put them back on?
