Shipping cost from France
« on: April 28, 2012, 12:24:52 PM »
Hi guys ^.^

Ok so I am making some sales at the moment and most of the people ask me a quote for shipping costs (this is quite normal lol)
However I don't know HOW to calculate them !! I see your shipping costs for the US, but how can I do it for France ?

Also how do you know the exacte weight of such a number of items ? I don't have any objects at home to calculate the shipping price. My only solution right now is to wait until I have put in boxes the ponies asked for (even if the person is still waiting for the shipping costs) and do it directly at the post office ! But that will definitly take a LOOOOONNNNG time !

Any solutions?

Thank you

Try checking the website of your postal service. It might have a calculator for weight, destination country and size of the box. I know the Austrian postal service does atleast.

As for the weight: put the thing on a pair of scales?

Do you have a scale to weigh your items?  If you don't I would suggest investing in one.  There usually cheap and will prove to be invaluable.  And not to mention no more running to the PO to get a quote.

Then you can check your Postal Service's website as Opalescence suggested.  It most likely will ask you destination, weight and so on, all you will have to do is enter this information on there.  It will then give you a quote to give your customers.

Good Luck and it is not as hard as it may seem. :)

Its definitely worth getting a kitchen scale to weigh your pony parcels  ( a cheap one will be fine). I use a digital kitchen scale personally and it gives a very accurate weight  ;)    then all you need to do is to measure the size of the box and check the postal website for your country.  Its normally pretty easy to do  :relaxed:  . Which country are you from?

Yep, buy a scale and use an online postage calculator.  And don't be surprised by large numbers, shipping prices have increased A LOT recently!
