How do you remove twinkle eyes?

They weren't my favorite as a kid, but I just scored my 4th yesterday

Ok, so I boiled then popped them out from the inside, with a screwdriver. thanks,
now I see the plastic casing inside, so how do you deal with that and new eyes? I have flat back crystals, so do i cut the plastic casing away and attatch with Apoxie? Or how do you do it?
