I have used the liquid peroxide to lighten up baby dishes and also brighten up the rattles. I do NOT think it would harm your castle, but it will be time consuming!

In fact  that reminds me... I have a barrette soaking for over 24 hours now- I see no color loss on it (or the dish I put it in)...

Wow, I never thought to use peroxide.

Why/how does it work?

You think it will work on a baby bonnet school of dance?

Does it make the plastic more brittle?

If my mother would have known this years ago I would still have my playsets! lol

Is there any sort of peroxide that anyone can recommend? Just regular old liquid or is this the hair stripper?

I restored the roof of my Lullaby Nursery with Hydrogen Peroxide and cream of tartar paste. It didn't damage it and returned it to a nice pink colour :)

Oh, lol. You should be able to find H202/peroxide at wal-mart.

What is this peroxide cream you're talking about? Sounds easier to use on say the show stable's roof. What is it supposed to be used for originally, bleaching hair?

Yes, it works on the Baby Bonnet School of Dance too.  :D

I have heard that it makes the plastic more brittle, but I've not noticed any difference.  Of course, I consider the playsets fairly brittle just due to age anyway and try to be gentle when handling them - I've had untreated playset pieces snap with very little pressure.

As long as there are no stickers to worry about and you have a large enough container, the liquid can be used (must be placed in sunlight to activate it though).  That kind can be found in pharmacies (including WalMart's of course).

For larger sets and those with stickers, the cream is better.  It's meant for bleaching hair; so, you should be able to find it at a beauty supply store.
